Check HT coils:
Many OEM electronic control units are destroyed by faulty and worn out HT coils. A HT coil can still provide a spark, but when the coils are damaged they will draw more current than the box can provide.
This will eventually cause the failure.
How to check HT coils:
 Disconnect the two plugs of the HT coil.
 Measure the resistance between the two terminals.
 Generally, the resistance is between 3 and 4.3 Ω.
 If the resistance is lower, the HT coil must be replaced.
Install the replacement box only when you are sure that the HT coils are correct.

Checking the battery voltage:
Another common failure causing ECU to fail is the régulator.
The regulator will transform the alternating current from the generator into direct current to charge your battery.
When the regulator is out of order, the box will get an out-of-range supply voltage and fail.
How to test the regulator
 Install the Box.
 Start the engine but do not accelerate! Not even for a short time, just let the engine idle.
 Measure the battery voltage, it should be around 13.7 14V
 If the battery voltage exceeds 15V stop the test immediately, your regulator is out of order.

Spark plug and spark plug caps:
All modern enclosures contain microcontroller technology. These electronic devices operate at low voltage.
Therefore resistive spark plugs and spark plug caps are highly recommended,
Generally their resistance is 5KΩ.
Resistive spark plugs and spark plug caps will reduce electromagnetic interference with your box.
